My name is Evelyn Santiago. I am a mother, educator, and life-long community advocate for equity in education, housing, and civic engagement.  

​

I currently serve as the Second Vice Chair of the White Plains Democratic City Committee or "WPDCC".  I have also served as Co-Chair of the WPDCC Issues Committee for the past four years.  In this capacity, I have researched and developed comprehensive, accessible, and methodical proposals for some of the most vexing issues facing our city.  

The opportunity to serve as a member of the White Plains Common Council will allow me to build on this knowledge and turn research into meaningful policies tailored to the real issues impacting all residents of White Plains!

 

Now more than ever, we need innovative solutions to navigate the affordable housing crisis facing our city, address public safety concerns, plan intergenerational spaces for our residents, and deliver a humanitarian response for our most vulnerable communities.

My demonstrated ability to build coalitions, develop pragmatic solutions, and execute sustainable practices will ensure White Plains continues to make progress on these core issues. I am truly excited for our great city and the important work that lies ahead.
