Why I'm Running

White Plains Common Council

Turning Passion into Action

I am running to be your voice in White Plains Common Council.  I will push for the policies and resources needed to improve the lives of all our residents: children, working families, seniors, and people with disabilities. Here is a brief synopsis of the issues I will prioritize as a Common Council member.

Community Safety for All

Mitigate youth delinquency and crime by investing in services and resources that expand family/peer support, establishment of dedicated safe third spaces - places outside of school/home for gathering, and incentivize community-based employment opportunities for our younger residents.

Implement strategic, community-based initiatives that build meaningful relationships and collaboration between our residents and law enforcement.

Protect our immigrant families from unwarranted harassment through community outreach, education, and harm-reduction strategies that keep all residents informed and safe.  Non-citizens who commit violence and cause harm to our communities will be held accountable just as a citizen would be. The overwhelming majority of our immigrant community contributes to the vibrant economic, social, and cultural diversity that makes our city such a wonderful place to live!

City of White Plains Housing and Parking Policies

Reimagining our current housing policies through stake-holder engagement and evidence-based policy making will ensure that our teachers, police, firefighters, seniors, and returning college graduates – are able to live and thrive in the community they serve and love.  Equitable and sustainable housing for our residents and workforce will be a primary legislative focus of mine.

Residents of White Plains deserve parking policy reform and with good reason. The cost of parking and related citations overburden our residents and force many to seek shopping and dining opportunities in neighboring towns.

Intergenerational Community Needs

Our community is in need of programs and physical space where we can bridge the social needs of our senior and youth population.  Intergenerational spaces enable people of different generations to meet and build relationships through entertainment, education, health, and personal development programs.

With your support, we can ensure an even more resilient, inclusive, and thriving White Plains for all residents!
